I think it's best to go to God when we have an issue confronting us that seems almost overwhelming to us both emotionally and mentally.
He knows we're human, and that we can't do it witout Him.
No one can tell you how to pray or to talk to God because our relationship with Him is an individual one. Each of us go to Him in different ways. However, I would suggest taking it to Him and telling Him how you feel about this person, how very much you care for them, and ask for His help in being able to pray for them as you should.
God knows what is in our hearts and knows what is best for each and every one of us. Whatever your prayer to Him is, just remember to tell Him ..."not my will, but Thine will be done."

Just pray that they are guided in the way that their life is meant to go and that they be happy. Pray that they have the strength and the faith to get them through all that they need to do.

If they want to work it out with thier ex, they will. If they don't want to work it out with their ex and you keep pushing them to do it, they will think that you don't love them, and that you are looking for an easy way out. You need to stop being insecure about it. If you truely love her, and she loves you back, don't push her away.
