Once upon a time, the king was considered a God, and Freddie was a Queen. Does that count?
I think he was a musical genius. But how many bands do you find these days whose musicians all hold degrees in music and can all compose and sing?
His lifestyle took nothing away from his abilities as a musician, except of course, to tragically shorten that span.

Incredible writer. In credible singer. Believe it or not, most of the backup harmonies you hear on those recordings, are Brian May. :)

Freddie's personal life left something to be desired, but, he was indeed one of a rare few in his musical generation. "A Kind of Magic" was my favorite Queen album.
