The best pitcher, right now, is Francisco Lariano. Just look at his numbers. He is 11 and 2 with a 1.94 ERA. The best pitchers of all time were Sandy Koufax and Bob Gibson. They each dominated their eras unlike any other pitchers. Unfortunately, Koufax only pitched for a short period of time. Thus, I would have to give the honor to Bob Gibson. Those you champion Nolan Ryan should take a closer look at his numbers. He was 324 and 292 (barely above .500) and holds the record for walks.

That's a tough one. Halladay on Toronto for today, He's been consistent for the past five years.
Baseball was different before the 40's. Cy Young sometimes pitched every other day. Did that make him the best ever, maybe , maybe not. The most durable ever no doubt. I think with 7 No hitters, Lifetime 3.19 era, 5714 strikeouts The best all time has to be Nolan Ryan. He still looks like he could pitch.

Today it has to be Carlos Zambrano .. the guy is 10-3 on a team that's 20 games under .500 .... he's amazing and young .... ALL time it could Pedro Martinez at his peak; he has like a .715 all time winning percentage ... come on now ... Mariano Rivera, Tom Seaver and Walter Johnson are close seconds.

Today: How can no one have said Roger Clemens? As much as I hate how he left the Sox, he's a freak of nature...
All-Time: How can no one have said Roger Clemens? 7 Cy Youngs...not sure I'd say him, I might go Koufax or Gibson...Ryan was too inconsistent, though on a given day he was unhittable...Walter Johnson is a good call...all time is tough...
