Lizards are reptiles. They live in the warmest parts of the world in deserts and rainforests and jungles. Some people think that dinosaurs were lizards because the name dinosaur means terrible lizard. The biggest lizard is the Komodo Dragon which lives in Indonesia. The tiniest lizard is a gecko found in the Caribbean. It is 1.5 inches long..
There are 3,750 different kinds of lizards in the world. Some eat insects. The biggest lizards eat pigs and deer. Some lizards are herbivores, or vegetarians, which means they only eat plants.

APPEARANCE
Lizards are covered in scales. They can have spikes, horns, frills and crests. They look very exotic. Some are smooth and some have horns. They all have tales. Some lizards have four legs, some have two legs and some have none.

HOW DO LIZARDS ACT?
Some lizards flick their tongue out to "taste" the air and pass all of the flavors that they smell to an organ in their mouth.
Lizards are cold blooded. They like to bask in the sun.

Lizards can be born in two different ways. Most lizards lay eggs. The lizard eggs are soft and pliant like leather. Other lizards are born live.

#2 is correct because you are using "few" as plural "types" which clearly have different mothers since they are not the same species. (#1 is wrong because it means the lizards come from the same mother, which is not the case.) To be more clear, you could say a "few species" or a "few types": Most lizards are born from eggs, but a few species are * born live. * born from their mothers' bodies. * born from the mother's body. ================================= Note 1: "Mothers' bodies" implies the lizards have several mothers *together as a group* which is correct; it does NOT mean that the lizards have more than one mother *each*, as some people incorrectly responded. There are several wrong answers. Other examples regarding possessive plurals: If the children have the same mother: "The twins are at their mother's house." If the children have different mothers: "All the foster children were returned to their mothers' houses." This does NOT mean any of the children has more than one mother. Since they have separate mothers, together as a group there are several mothers. Everybody, and every living creature comes from an egg that was fertilized. All reptiles, and even birds and platypus' are come from egg shells, laid by the mother animal. Sea Turtles burry their eggs in sand before they hatch, and never see the hatchlings. Some Snakes put their eggs in a hole in the ground, and keep watch over them until they are born. Platypus' have a nest they make to put their eggs in though.

Uh, yes. Lizards are reptiles, which (with only a couple of rather strange exceptions) lay eggs.
