This is because they have not much idea of a good game. They only are keen on rough sports auch as American football which is not as popular in other countries as it is in the States.
But soccer is much more popular in so many other countries of the world. So if this game would have been invented in the States it were as popular as the typical American sports such as baseball etc.
When playing soccer shooting goals are expected but it's also very interesting to make a great game and not just goals. So sometimes a game ends 0:0 - but the point was that it had been a G O O D game which was played. A high number of goals won't make a good game anyway.

The USA has won a world cup and olympic match but we have never gotten very far in Tournaments, that is because Football is the most popular sport in all of Europe so all children play it. In the US on the other hand, there isn't as big as a fan base and we are not used to playing football yet. However, times are changing and the US will slowly become a super power in Football. Also we may have a few decent players on our National but we need more depth and a stronger overall team. I predict in 8 years we will win the World Cup.

Sure the USA has. It has won quite a few Olympic and World Cup matches.
Anyhoo, let's see, I'm an American athlete and I can make millions playing baseball, basketball, football or hockey in my own country or Canada. Or I can play soccer for peanuts here and hope I get good enough to play in Europe and even then would not come close to the salary I can make as a bench warmer in any of the North American sports.

football has been around longer then American football, basketball which is invented in Canada, and baseball in the USA. but they never can get better at it, I'm so sick and tired of hearing its a new sport in the USA but its been their well over 100 years look it up. in the early days USA football teams where more players from the south like Mexico etc.... the Americans want the rules to change to make the scores like 26 to 22 but in American football (handball) the scores are like 21 to 14 in a football game that would be 3-2 and in basketball and baseball there is no defence..if you look at the 2 top sports in the world that is played by millions around the world #1 football (soccer) #2 Hockey and they are both great games to play and to watch. and they are low scoring games too. its the same as hockey its been around for years in USA and they think they are new to the sport which their not they don't get better and want to change the rules so they can dominate.. but look at baseball they had a world baseball classic this past year and Japan won the tournament and team USA was full of excuses.. in the USA its all about the money first and their image then its about the game.

Mostly because the MLS or whatever else programs dont really have enough money. Soccer ( football ) is, as you all probably know, not the biggest sport in America. It comes after American Football, Baseball and Basketball. Soccer is still played in America, and you will see more and more people playing it here. You will also notice that Soccer is being used in cartoons more and more.
Soccer is not America's pasttime, and is not really tradition as it is in the rest of the World.
So, hopefully, soccer will, in time, become bigger here in the United States.

America's never won because over in Europe they have schools available for kids that not only teach them academics, but soccer skills and history is part of the curriculum. Its like a boarding school for the serious soccer player, the children live inside a soccer stadium and they have at least 4 sessions each day. If we had that in America, we would be one of the world powers of soccer.

That is a problem of Americans. They think that they must won in every sport. There is a number of countries that never won Olympics, or WCup.
I don't think that USA team is bad. They are average in group of teams from last World cup.

i think they actually have a good team.......they reached the 3rd round in the previous world cup and were so unlucky to lose against Germany in a match they dominate.
and this year the same happened they were bad in the first match, but in the other two match they played well, but they were unlucky because all the referees were against them.And don't forget one important thing. The USA woman team is the best in the world comparing to other woman teams.

because they know they will never win no matter how hard they try...so theyd rather focus on their meathead sports like american football and baseball...cause they know the world doesnt give a sh*it about these kinds of sports so the united states will always be number one. they would rather focus on sports where they will always win (cause no other country participates) rather than accepting the fact that they other countries are better than them at certain things.
i think i would keel over and die if the united states ever won anything soccer related.

As a soccer player i dont think any american takes the game seriously. they dont really realize how hard it is to sprint across that field back and forth nonstop for 90 minutes. On average a person of my position runs 5 miles a game
