His biggest hit is Achy Break Heart but other hit songs include Some Gave All (written about a soldier who gave his life fighting for his country) Busy Man, among others though none matched the success of Achy Breaky Heart. He got his start in acting with a small part in David Lynch's dark film "Mulholland Drive. He also played the leading role of Doctor Clint Cassidy in DOC on the Pax Network. He currently stars with his daughter in the Disney hit Hannah Montana and has just released a new album Wanna be Your Joe which came out earlier this week.
