I am a die hard fan and I am trying to stay positive here but I can't imagine a big improvement. i think for the long term, they have things to look forward to. Drafting AJ Hawk was DEFINITELY a step in the right direction. They got a grade of a "B" for their draft choices by the local newspaper here. And I would agree. It was a solid draft. But the next couple of years here could be tough. It's a process that every team must go through I guess.

You are right, it is a process. Keeping a team together after being champs is much more challenging now as opposed to when I started watching sports in 1966. I wish Brett Favre and The Pack the best but it looks like an 8-8 season to me. The draft WAS good for them and the team will not only need to develop around the influx of new talent, but find it's "identity" along the way. The division is close too with all that is going on. The Vikes are with a new coach, the Bears could win the division, and the Lions aren't going anywhere for a while. The Pack could win the division with a .500 record but they would be hard pressed to reach deep into the playoffs. I would not say they are in for a dreadful season, with some breaks they can do well.

If Favre doesn't throw a thousand picks and if Green can stay healthy, the Packers can be a legitimate threat. Driver isn't a bad #1 receiver and the addition of Hawk and Woodson should pan out, so I predict 10-6 and possibly the division in the NFC North

YES. They aren't very strong at area of the Offense or Defense.
QB is old, RB's aren't good and injury prone, no true #1 WR (no Donald Driver isn't one), and the O-Line is dreadful. Now the DEF the secondary is horrible and NO GB fans Woodson is not the answer he might be the most overrated DB in the NFL, the DL is OK because KGB is good, and the LB's got a boost because of Hawk (which was a great pick). My prediction

5-11

they got an easy schedule. I am a HUGE FAN too. 4 out of their first 5 games are very winnable so maybe that is some hope. And their D is much improved with Hawk and Woodson. They got a better chance at winning the division than getting a wild card spot.

Hmm... well I think they will have a much better season than last year, with lots of players being lost to injury. I mean didn't like the top 3 running backs on the depth chart end up getting injured for the rest of the season? and Javon Walker got hurt in week one (but who needs him?) I don't think they'll be a wild card with that crazy NFC East conference; at least one team in that conference will be a wild card, maybe even two. I'm looking at the Packers schedule right now and my prediction is: 7-9

Um...no I honestly wouldn't rule them out for a wild card. 10-6 is my guess. Favre's last season, they still have the players they need to get it done...especially on defense. 7th overall in 2005 that improved with Woodson and Hawk. They have healthy running backs, and they are going to have to stay that way if they want to win. Gado is probably the guy I'd pick to start...not sure why they signed Green again...Mr. Butterfingers.

If they can hold on defense, succeed in the running game...and stop turning the ball over...they aren't going to do as bad as people think they will.

I know that there will definitely be an improvement over last year. (Anything would be better than last year) But it won't be the greatest. They were once the best team in the league, and they have gone up and down. Just normal. It isn't just the players that make a team good or bad, it is how they work as a team.

As a Viking fan, I can only hope. heh heh. Though my Dad wouldn't be too happy. He's been a long time Packer fan for over 60 years

6-10. This year I expect improvement, but it is simply unrealistic to expect much more than a two or three game improvement in one year.
