my wife thinks i should never take my ring off, but when i'm at the gym and lifting heavy weights it bruises my fingers badly. the pain really effects the way i grip the barbells. and my ring is taking damage -- it gets scratched from the metal grips on the barbell... i'm devoted to my wife, but isn't this an instance where taking your ring off is okay?

yes it is...some women take their rings off when theyre cleaning so it doesnt get damaged, so if it's hurting you and if it's getting ruined i think it's okay to take it off. as long as you keep it on at all other times!

I take mine off every night, every time I'm doing anything around the house that there is a chance of getting it grabbed by the tool or the items I am working with. I'm devoted to my wife too, but common sense is common sense!!!!!!!

I also take it off for my showers and when I wash the dishes.

I take mine off when I sleep and when I shower or if I'm doing some other activity where I can lose it or damage it. For example - it would not be wise to wear it while breaking concrete with a sledgehammer, water skiing, paragliding, ice fishing.

It's not like you are no longer married when you take your ring off.

Its is really ok,depending where you working or doing something that can be dangerous for your safety.in that case better take off the ring instead of losing a finger.:)

take the ring off, you know you are married. If you wanted to stray a band of gold on your finger isn't going to stop you.

she needs to get over it...i felt like that but my husband is a locksmith and has poor circulation...extreme cold would make the band hurt his finger because its tungstan carbide...i bet she takes hers off to clean dishes or clean anything for that! i assume your newlyweds? i say that because like i said, i felt that way at first but got over it

it's okay! if she loves and trusts you, then it shouldn't bother you. i used to take mine off all the time when i did dishes, clean, and take showers....but i got tired of doing that...and now, i don't even where it anymore. only if we go out somewhere...which is not often at all.
