I read it and found it really wasn't written that well.
The Bourne series by Ludlum is about Carlos the Jackal as well (although fictionally), much better written, much better espionage.
The books are MUCH better than the movies.

It was a good book when it first came out-it may seem a bit dated now.
All of the books by Frederick Forsythe are well researched,another author who writes in a similar way is Gerald Seymour

I think you'll love the book.....you're a 20 year old girl who loves reading and history.......could I point you in the direction of a writer called Herman Hesse? I'd be interested to know what a modern 20 year old makes of him!

any book is worth reading even the telephone directory.. although some books are more worth it than others, the day of the jackal is a good example of it's genre so if you like the genre you willl enjoy it
