That's a good question. I think that there is a soulmate for everybody, a true love. Now saying that there is no map to finding that person soon if ever on this planet, but you must try. Like the Princess Bride kind of love, it is worth it.

How in the world did you become so cynical? I'm sorry life hasn't handed you the love you want, but if you want to fall in love with someone of your own gender, you can do so, and if you work at it, the relationship has a good chance of lasting. Love is both plentiful and rewarding. But it isn't free.

I don't think that's true, though it may feel like it if you just had a break up or are currently not in a romantic relationship. We aspire to love and be loved by many...family, friends, God...not just romantic relationships.

First off I think a lot of us have this idealized picture of what a loving relationship looks like. Tom Cruise, only not crazy. In reality we will find love in ordinary people.

Also I think we have to know how to accept love before we're any good at giving it.

There are many reasons...
human frailties, free will, a lack of loving ourselves, an inability to accept the love that we receive, a belief that there must be 'something more out there,' an inability to commit, an unwillingness to make sacrifices...just to name a few

its better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. I do think that there are very few people who find what they call true love, and the rest of us die tryin. it could be all the wrong places, and it could mean that we just havent found our prince yet.
