read the Federalist Papers. The whole idea for the second amendment was to keep the federal government afraid of the citizenry, not the other way around.

Gun control just subjegates the populace to the government

The Second Amendment is quite plain about that and very clear. To allow the government to ban guns requires a constitutional amendment. Any law that would infringe the right to keep and bear arms is on the face of it unconstitutional.

But here is what has happened and what will continue to happen: to get around the need for an amendment, the courts will play fast and free with the English language and discover new meanings for "not" and for "infringed" and so on.

Already, back in the 30's, when some guy was arrested for carrying a shotgun on a train or el, the dingbat judge decided that because the Second Amendment starts out giving a reason why the right should not be infringed, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, ....., that guns can only be carried if you are in a militia. Historically, the courts and "scholars" have argued and debated over commas, and what the "people" means and what "militia" means and on and on. They'll keep it up until they succeed in corrupting the amendment into something else.

I am not in favor of blanket gun ownership. But I am not in favor of this dishonest, sniveling, sneaky, backdoor trashing of any part of the Constitution. You don't like something in it, you live with it or change it in accordance with the provisions in it.

I think the government should allow everyone to keep a gun. The way the world is now, everyone has to be able to protect themselves. You can't ban something that could be used to save a life or two. After all, the government doesn't exactly do the best job at keeping the country's people as safe as they possibly can.

I am a strong believer in gun ownership. When a government bans guns, the countries go to hell in a handbasket. The founding fathers wrote the 2nd amendment so the people could control the government, not the other way around. Some people don't recognize the vast amount of freedom we have in this country. I'm N.R.A. for life.

I hate guns! Guns kill! If everyone would learn how to get along, to love and respect each other, then we wouldn't need any kind of weapons! Yes, guns should definitely be banned everywhere! There are several countries in Europe that have already banned them.

Everyone should be allowed the right to bear arms to prevent tyrannical governments. That's the whole reason it was in the US constitution. It's extremely important.

When a populace can maintain control of their freedom they will never be at risk of falling to a dictatorship. When they forfeit that right, they are then at the mercy of their government and any form it may take in the future.

The Constitution of the United States of America guarantees the right of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. If all of the law abiding people turn in their guns, then only criminals will have them, and I would have to become a criminal.
