If it is my first visit to a massage therapist then i would expect a consultation before i had my treatment, to find out if i had any problem areas etc. I want to know what oils are used and what effect they will have on me. The consulatation should also discuss what kind of massage i am looking for, one week i might want a more relaxing massage than the week before.
During the massage i want to feel as ease and completely unwind. After the massage i would expect the therapist to tell me to drink lots of water to help get rid of the toxins that the massage has helped push out of my muscles. :-)

Thoroughness. If I have a knot, get it out completely. And listen to me if I tell you that its too painful!

To feel relaxed, comfortable and content.
