there is a foam pad used to line tool boxes,, or cabinets to keep things from sliding,, put some of this under the mattress

Go to the store & get Velcro (hook & loop tape). If you buy it off a roll.... you can buy only the amount you need.. Use about 6 inches of it folded in half for each spot where you need to secure it from slipping. You might use 2-3 istraps if top only the top slides down; 1 on each end & 1 in center. Do the same on the bottom part if it's on the move too! Be sure to read directions for attaching Velcro to the futon pad/mattress itself. Walmart has it in fabric department on rolls & in packages. It'll need to be at least 1/2 inch wide tape. Good Luck, Granny.

cut shoelaces in half & sew them onto it, where it crosses the frame. If you can get the cover off, then sew on velcro strips.
But the shoelaces are easy to sew on in place.

sew some strings on the end of it and tie it to the frame.
