No artists release promotion cds etc for radio station use, or so a magazine can do a review, its not illegal to own but it is one way that music is copied and distributed before an official release date and they probably dont want that to happen.

if the seller is the actual hired distributer of the CD, then there's nothing illegal. else the seller has done something illegal. its up to you whether or not to take action.

the rule is basically there if you get caught. I mean, you're not supposed to record TV shows or movie rentals, but people do that all the time. As long as you don't get caught. like removing the warning label off a mattress.

It is not illegal to own the CD. The party who sold it would have some trouble with the promotor who supplied it as it was not for resale. Hang onto it it may be a collectors item.

Maybe it was just a demo or sample CD, like the kind the DJs play. I wouldn't be concerned about it. Just don't sell it. Hopefully, the FBI has more important challenges than chasing after bootlegged CDs. Then again...

the only ones i own that say that are just what you said it is... a promotional CD. whenever i won a cd on the radio, that is the one they would send you, meaning they can't sell it, but they can give it away in a contest or something.

No, it's not illegal to own it, but it's not supposed to be sold, however, I believe the "not for sale" stamp is directed towards business owners and not auction sites like eBay.

I certainly have a greater effective thought. in case you elect to teach that we don't need the unlawful immigrants in this u . s ., you will would desire to teach that we are able to truly do with out them. we are going to choose approximately one hundred fifty,000 center classification white human beings out picking oranges that day, and yet another 50,000 cleansing the bathrooms in the workplaces of the huge firms. Will you be on a ladder in the tree or on your knees scrubbing that day?

Legal to own, illegal to sell. As long as you don't sell it you'll be ok.
