We have a 2 year old and a 7 month old. The front to back one's work well when the baby has to be in an infant seat, but are akward most of the time. But, from personal experience, I would definitely invest in a GOOD side by side when the baby is able to sit well enough. You can find one's that can fold down one side at a time so that you can lay the baby down and use it earlier. Try and go to babies r' us or somewhere where you can actually push the stroller around and see how well it manuevers.

Graco makes a tandem stroller that will take an infant seat and a 2 1/2 year old will fit with plenty of room in the other seat.

Most double strollers will not accomodate infant seats. It's very rare. One of the best choices in the market is the Peg Perego Aria Twin. You can see it at http://www.kidzthings.com/ariatwin_toffee.html selling at 329.99 with free shipping. Although it will not accomodate an infant seat it will do the job well for 2 kids.

http://www.babysupermall.com/main/products/gra/gra7951mtr.html (If you read the comments next to this one, it says you can attach a carseat to either the front or back seat)
