obviously when u try and be kind to someone they like bite your head off but don't worry at least u did ur part on trying to be nice who cares why they are like that if thats the way that they want to live then so be it. I just believe that some are like that because they either lost that one person that did bring them happiness or that they really didn't have a great childhood, or tehy are just grumpy old people like mr.scrooge

Most people are vey self involved. They are thinking about their needs and not anyone else's. It is also a matter of upbringing. Many grew up with a feeling of entitlement. The emphasis is not on what you have but what you think you are entitled to. There is no gratitude if you think your are entitled

Some people just don't have home training and don't know how to act appropriately towards others. This isn't your problem, but I would immediately correct them.

When they do (i agree, they do) just simply tell them " No need to bite the hand that feeds you" and just walk away.Leave them stumped standing there with their mouth open. That is what should happen if you do it right. : D
