The THX versions from anyone is going to be better than non THX speakers from anyone else. Personally of all the Non-THX speakers, I like the Monsoon Flatpanel speakers with sub-woofer. Great imaging and sound stage. Did I mention that they have great imaging. I have an album that I use to evaluate stereo systems with the Monsoon are almost as good as my $4000 Polk SRS 1's at imaging (not the SPL of course). I use the Herbie Hancock album Cameleon as an imaging reference. You can close you eyes and picture where each instrument is placed on the stage. Solid bass. Tight not boomy except at high SPL. Tends to get muddy when I play them too loud, but what do you expect from a single 8" woofer.

For Movies & gaming the THX speakers are awesome. The Altec-Lansings THX setup is mind blowing in effect and thump. I would not get these if I lived in an apartment or Town home. The THX dynamic range is going to rock the neighbors pictures off the wall. (I've done it! They called the cops on me!)

Of the choice you give Creative are the best. However Logitech X and Z range are coming out tops in shootouts between manufacturers. I had a Creative 5.1 set and couldn't believe my ears when i switched to Logitech X530 5.1

I've had a creative labs 4.1 set for over 6 years and I still use it, it's never have problems at all, and I've blasted this thing and not been very nice to it. The bass is awesome, midtones great and no tinny noises from this set at all. I reccomend them to anyone loking for a good set.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with the other brand so I cannot attest to their quality.

Altec Lansing. Don't buy speakers. Buy a sub woofer.
