About 5-6 years ago. It happened because at that time I was deducting everything down to the penny and one of those checks took a VERY long time to clear and when it did apparently there wasn't enough money in the account and it caused a domino effect. Ever since then I round up. I don't care if the transaction was $20.01. I round up and deduct $21 even. When I deposit my check I never include the change. All that change adds up to several hundred dollars and comes in handy when money gets tight.

Never! Never write a check if you don't have the money. This will affect your credit history.
