The problem with football now is that are too many games...some of the players came into the world cup playing well over fifty games.....so by the time the world cup came round they were burnt out.... Steve Gerrard is an example.....he started the new season qualifying for the champions league with liverpool from there he went to Japan for the world club championships and played an fa cup final.....that`s at least 60 games...they were exceptional players at the world cup but human at the end of the day

Sepp Blatter take note....

You forget the final of 1994 Brazil vs Italy. The paint was already dry there before the game started!

Totally agree. 1990 was awful too but this was the topper. The thing that drove me nuts was the on and on about how great these players are...huh? The majority can't hit a net the size of Paris Hilton's love tunnel. Hi, Frank Lampard, are you listening?

Been a soccer player and fan since the mid-'70s and it's turned me off my plans to see my third World Cup Finals in 2010. I'm not wasting $ to see crap like that in South Africa in 4 years' time.

This world cup wasn't that bad, to compare it to paint drying is really stupid. Do you even know what the world cup is about? Its about the passion of watching soccer. Its about getting together with the world and rooting for your team. Soccer is spectacular, no matter what you or anyone says.

Greetings Young One,
I can see that your respect of the game of football is in serious drowing. Not to wreak havoc on your interrogation or anything, but this world cup had more PK shoot outs and more goals than any of the preceding. Not only was it exciting but we got to see the first head butt ever in a world cup final.

it is bad how mexico got out in the las minutes by that stupid luck
it is bad how germany got beaten by cheater italy in the last minute by that stupid luck
it is bad how Australia got out by same cheater italy in the final second by a fake penalty and stupid luck
it is bad how france had to play without zedan and henry in the final because of the same stupid luck
it is also bad how portugal got to play with germany on third place while they could have played on first place due to that fake penalty and the very same stupid luck
it is bad how spain got out from round 16 while it could have played in the semi finals ..it is the same stupid luck
so luck had an important rule in that tournament
and if the luck wasnt there
some big countries could have gone out from round 16
like Argentina and italy
however luck didnt work out for brazil IN round 8 and i think that was the most fair match
