The answer is YES. You do need to introduce yourself. There is a difference between being psychic and being omniscient. Being psychic does not mean you know EVERYTHING. Being psychic means that a person is extremely good at picking up on thoughts, feelings and circumstances around the situation. Their brain acts just like a radio or satellite dish. Their brains can recieve bits and pieces of information about something/someone. It doesn't mean that the psychic understands the whole situation, however the person who asked the question of the psychic should recognize it as true. For example, a psychic may see that you like to always keep your gas tank full because you have a fear of being left stranded on the freeway. You may say that's not so psychic because a lot of people wouldn't want to have an empty gas tank and be left stranded on the freeway BUT the receiver of that information knows that everytime they are driving, they are constantly thinking about their gas tank and are obsessed with keeping it full. The psychic picked up on that thought, BUT they don't really "know" the person that asked the question. get it? And the psychic may not pick up on what YOU think they should pick up on. If a person is so psychic why don't they know your favorite ice-cream flavor or your first name ( although some do know that) ? Because that is not what being psychic is about. Those kinds of information about psychics is from Hollywood stories. A good psychic usually will pick up on issues that you are dealing with or a real wonderful happy event... a good psychic will get information that is emotionally charged and important. A psychic can see, feel and know feelings and thoughts because those are the things that carry a lot of energy to it, a psychic is reading those energy waves. Just like a t.v. and radio will read electrical impulses and waves. As human beings we emit electrical impulses and waves in our thoughts and emotions. (Remember in science class, we learned about our brain waves as Alpha, Delta and Theta - the same waves they measure in hospitals or in lie detector tests) A psychic's brain will receive those waves and tell the information to you. Psychic information is meant to help people NOT for entertainment, although unfortuneately that's how most people take it. Hope this answered your question. ; )

As someone who believes that there actually are psychic people out there, though rare, I don't think they are all knowing (like God) and that you probably need to introduce yourself.

I've always wanted to walk up to a psychic and just stand there, waiting. When they ask what I'm doing, I'd just say, "Well? I'm waiting..."

Absolutely....lol
The rest she picks up from your responses to her subtle questions. We often tell them more than they asked.
Are you wearing a ring? Are you older? therefore have probably experienced much of life.....etc.
They read and pick up the person's body language and get quite good at it.
All in all, they are there for fun and not to be taken seriously.
Do some people have more insight than others? Absolutely.

That's how you tell if they're really a psychic. If they don't already know who you are, they're full of cr@p.

Duh? If one claims to be a psychic ... what is the point? They should already know who you are.
