The Israelis, at any time, could go and take the oil that they might want. The fact that they haven't done so, despite the provocations from their oily neighbors, demonstrates to people who aren't biased that the Jews do not seek war or dominion. They only seek peace in their own land.

Which the Arabs have never given them.

Classic liberal commentary. Miss the point of an issue and focus on something irrelevant or just plain wrong.

If its all about oil, why after liberating Kuwait did the US not take over Kuwaiti oil production? Why did we re-institute Kuwaiti sovereign government and leave? Why not same story in Iraq? NOT OIL

Do you realize Clinton was impeached and disbarred not because of sex but, because he lied under oath and abused the powers of the executive office. NOT SEX

Wouldn't they have already done it? If Israel was the "problem" in the middle east, wouldn't they have destroyed (as they are capable of) their neighbors? Why do they specically go after terrorist targets, with admittedly some collateral damage, while all the Muslims are attacking civilians deliberately... launching rockets in to neighborhoods, strapping bombs on and blowing up women and children on buses. These are a bunch of evil uncivilized monsters, and Israel is fully capable of destroying them with their superior military power, but they don't, because that isn't their goal. And unlike Muslims, they don't seek world domination.

0976, your clearly a moron.

Apart from Israels pre-emptive wars against its neighbours during the 70's and 80's, as well as its sponsorship of Christian Militias in Lebanon when they invaded in the late 80's, Israel is one of the most aggressive states in the middle east.

and dont you dare bring God into this. That moronic idea has killed enough people who use it to justify carpet bombing.

and again, the above user is clearly not versed in what middle-eastern politics is like. If Israel was only targeting military targets, why has Beirut and the Christian North come under Israels shellfire?

Are you really so simple minded that you think this conflict is over greed for oil? Do you ever listen to the news or pick up a newspaper? Do some research before you open your mouth!

No, they don't care about oil.

They just want to be left alone.

They never bother anyone, they just have a small piece of land and everyone should leave them alone and let them live peacefully.

If not, then they better watch out, because you are messing with God's territory.

Israel is not concerned with oil at the moment. They are making a point that they refuse to put up with Hezbailah (or however you spell it) terrorist bullsh*t any longer.

--That would be counter-productive. It would be damn near impossible for the limited number of nukes the Isrealis have to wipe out all the Perians and Arabs. Two, the radiation poisoning would be so powerful, we would be unable to extract it for our use. So thanx for letting everybody know you are stupid and anti-semetic.
