You would have already left the past when you went into the future, but you would still exist in the memories of those who knew you.

Are you actually serious? It is more like, if you die in the past then you will cease to exist in the future.

No - you would cease to exist in the future. You should have phrased the question to read, "If you traveled to the past (before you were born) and died in the past, would you cease to exist in the future?"
Everyone dies in the future. Unless you are already dead. In which case, you died in the past.
Unless you believe in the Rapture, or space aliens, or some other "bodily removal to the presence of the deity" idea.

Yes: This was proven in the Back to the Future movies. It would create a chain of events that would become an alternate reality, and eventually replace it as a "new" or "current" present.
Additionally, the flux capacitor is what makes time travel possible. Great Scott! (now consume your beer).

Do you exist? You have died in the future sometime and yet you are still here now. You are your futures past right now.

It works in the other direction.
if you come from the future to the past, you could alter events along another reality

Ask the History teachers that question. Would there be any History recorded No. We wouldn't have the books written about historical figures would we?
