Metroid Prime is my most favorite. Retro revitalized a sleeping series in a whole new form. The weapons made a comeback, enemies were Metroid-esque for the environment, level designs were well done, and music was eerie cool. Halo is cool in its online gameplay, yet Metroid Prime's single player adventure feels more enthralling.

Chrono Trigger (SNES) By far the best game I have ever played.
It has one of the most well written and in depth story lines ever put in a game. The music soundtrack is amazing. Over all, for when it was made, it can't be beat. They don't make games like that anymore.
