Yes, if other countries join the conflict, there could be another world war.

Hezbollah has indicated that it will bombard Tel-Aviv, Israel with 500 missiles. So far, Hezbollah has used Kassam and Ketuysha rockets. It has not used the Zelzal or Fajr missiles, yet which have longer range. Israel is committed to ferreting out the missiles and destroying them. This will be costly to both sides in casualties.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said on MEMRI TV the volcano of rage of the people in the region is on the brink of eruption...it will not be limited to this region.

Iran attended North Korea's missile testing on July 4. Maybe there is reason to suspect that Iran was instrumental in Hezbollah's attacks on Israel. Perhaps the leaders in Iran and other Shiite Muslims intend to rid the world of Fitnah. Perhaps at some point the Sunni Muslims will join in the battle.

The Qur'an says:
(8:39) "So fight them until there is no more fitnah (disbelief or worship of any god but Allah) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world)" ... "And fight with them until there is no more fitnah (persecution) and religion should be only for Allah"

Perhaps the rhetoric about bombing the Kaaba in Mecca and the holy Muslim sites in Medina and Jerusalem are talk, but if that were to happen then I wonder what would happen next.

I guess all three Abrahamic religions (Muslims, Christians, Jews) are looking for the Messiah to come. Maybe that will happen to save the world from WWIII.

It is getting closer. A few more things are to happen and then whalla WW3. I do however think that it is in the beggining stages. There are alot of answers in our Bible and the signs of the end of times is nearing. Thank you for brining this to our attention here--

UHHHHH YEA in a sense.... I mean is that what they are naming it now? I know we have been dealing with this for a while now, but I am not sure that it is technically called WWIII???? I guess the third times a charm..... unless the end is approaching (in that case you could take it as a charm, or not. Depending on your prefrence)

You are so right. It will continue on for years to come, but in the end-this is it. Every country will get involved one way or another, and mankind as we know it will be gone.
