Maybe it's because that already figured in their head what it will be if you gave them $6.

How about when something costs $5.52 and you give them $10.02, just so I won't get any pennies.

I did that job for three years and I hated it. I never got confused though~You must be going to all the stupid cashiers who only have an education level of second grade~Or it could be that they just dont care enough to actually pay attention to you and what you give them and all they look at is the computer.

Because it involves having to deal with the fact that the change cancel each other out. That one never bothered me so much when I was a cashier as when someone would give me odd change that didn't equal or was more than the change in the bill. I always had to think about that--it throws you off guard. :)

they aren't used to that, I have seen cashiers get confused at me before because of that, but on the other hand, I have seen cahiers that are used to that kind of thing and do it all the time. I used to be one, and I caught on pretty fast, in fact, I preferred it that way.

i used to be a cashier at albertson's and it didnt confuse me but i hated when i was running out of certain bills or had too much lose change and tried to get rid of it. i think it has to do with the think fast thing too, especially when your drawer doesnt calculate for you.
