A satellite receiver and an antenna will not give you any channels if you don't subscribe to the satellite service. It is illegal to decode a satellite signal you do not pay for just like it is illegal to decode cable channels you do not subscribe to. Hackers have done it but it is illegal. Anyway, I think the satellite companies have beefed up their encryption so it is much harder to break now.

You could:

a) collect a lot of money and ask the government, or some company to send your "satellite system" into space.

b) find a throng of other people who want to view the same channels as you do for no cost and start a fundraising service, then buy the parts for the satellite system, find someone to manufacture it, and someone to send it to space.

c) create your own satellite cable business.

d) get someone else to do this for you and pay them.

...Oh the possibilities...it wouldn't be easy you know...
