Hi CannForever !!
The last couple of months have really been an experience that I will not forget. I have met such wonderful people but there are two that I would like to mention. andygurl...wow never met such a wonderful person like her. When Italy won against Australia we were getting alot of bad mouthing from everybody and their brother, and I was getting a little bit frustrated, I would receive an enormous amount of hateful emails. I had decided that this place wasn't for me until I got a beautiful email from andygurl (she's an Aussie) and ever since I don't let anything bother me..she's a wonderful lady and mom...Thank you andygurl. Another person I think is amazing is soccer_mind, he's very knowledgeable in soccer and I've learned alot from him, mind you in the beginning I didn't really like him because he made such an arrogant comment on one of my questions but in the end I realized that he was right and I was wrong..Thanks soccer_mind!
I know that I'm not perfect and admit that I've made nasty comments myself but never with the intention to hurt on insult anyone!!!
This is my story...LOL
OOPS! I forgot to mention that I Love soccer and my team but I also love the fact that you get to talk to people all over the world!!
Forza Italia and Good Luck to everyone in 2010!

I enjoyed the football month, but I generally enjoy football anyway.
Does football bring the world together? I'm not so sure about it. From one point of view, it does, because people from all around the world watch it so you could say they have something in common. But, in my oppinion, that's about it. I mean, like you said, look how the Zidane incident divided everyone. And it's not just that. Have you ever been at a football game and by a horrible mistake got yourself between a group of fans of the other team (while you were wearing your shirt's team)? I have. And believe me when I tell you, I worried for my life. No joking. The way they all looked at me and what they started saying. They really did wanna beat me up. Plus, fights happen so often it's not real.
Now you tell me how someone can say football brings people together.

Soccer, like any other community games foster camaraderie and companionship. Soccer brings people together physically (when players are playing), psychologically (when fans hope their favourite team wins) and spiritually (when a person's faith becomes stronger due to soccer). Soccer is also the game that's played most widely across the continents and oceans. Soccer also requires teamwork unlike Golf which is more individualistic. We have also seen how Italy became more united despite the Italian match fixing scandal. That's how the game can bring people together.

World cup was the greatest of spectacles. Isolated incidents such as zidane's head-butting should not color our judgment of this great sport. It calls for ultimate in human valor, courage, stamina, and a great deal of strategy and cunning besides team effort to succeed in this game. The entire world literally came to a single platform for an intense and hard fought battle as per set rules in a by and large fair umpiring. It was indeed a treat to watch these games. The spirit of the game was important and not who won.

Football does bring people together and it all helps to prevent crime. When the Reggae Boys from Jamaica qualified in the last world cup no murders were reported for that night. Even the criminals were at home watching the game. Imagine that!!!

Yes, football brings people together, no matter of race or gender. We all are united in the same dream, and, because the whole world is hanging on to the identical aspiration, football is the most beautiful game...

it may divide some people....like the italians and the french....but overall, the rest of the world is united! we all got to see a month of amazing games and even if our team lost, we still supported them all the way and still have hope for 2010.
i think people who truly love football know that a loss is just part of the game...
personally, when my favorite team loses (argentina), i just pick a new team to support (first it was portugal but they didnt make it either) and then i continue to find new teams to support (italy won!!).
so in the end, im still happy for someone. i think most people are like that too!
:)

Cech Terry Cannavaro Nesta Zambrotta Lampard Gerrard Gattuso Lahm Ronaldiniho Shevchenko Rooney This crew may beat the different. Cech is a robust strong keeper The defence speaks for itself Gattuso may anchor the midfield and allow Lampard and Gerrard license to roam ahead. The wing-backs can shelter and bypass ahead. Ronaldiniho may have a free position and provides you you the ammunition for both forwards.

absolutely, countries united to root for the national team (literally). All over the globe you can see how people really do love this game. I am a Latin-American, living in Atlanta, GA.
I love baseball and basketball, but, nothing and I mean nothing can replace the feeling soccer gives you when you watch your national team o favorite team play.
