U2 wins by leaps and bounds. There isn't a Red Hot Chili Pepper song that I like, while the number of U2 songs that I enjoy are numerous. Not to mention Bono, as irritating as his persona is, can actually sing, while the Red Hot Chili Peppers come close to rapping, which to me is not a form of music at all, just a form of aggravation.
Granted the quality of U2's music over the years has diminished and is nothing compared to days of Joshua Tree, but they still have more vocal talent and instrumental versatility than The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Edge's guitar play, especially in the early years, was so distinctive that no one can mistake U2 for anyone else.
Not to mention that U2, especially in the beginning, wrote music rife with substance and social consciousness. There is a dearth of politically charged themes in the music by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Most of their music is concerned with sexual trysts and self-aggrandizement. Sorry to all the Peppers fans, but to compare U2 to them is like comparing grade D grade ground beef to filet mignon.

Red Hot Chili Peppers everyday!
U2 doesn't rock anymore. Bono preaches instead.
Musicians should rock and leave the preaching to the preachers!

The final respectable pink warm Chili Peppers album is mothers Milk and the final respectable U2 album is Achtung toddler, so U2 win via fact they have in straightforward terms been churning out sh!te for the final 15 years while in comparison with RHCP 18 years.

This is so completely not a question. U2 is way better, and it's not that RHCP is bad (they aren't, I love them), it's just that U2 has done so much, in so many different ways, that they are one of the true iconic rock acts of our time. They are really cementing themselves to be grouped with the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Led Zepplin, but with broader appeal. I bet even Kreidis would agree!
