I can understand why you would be attracted to your cousin. After all, most people marry someone who reminds them of a family member. As humans, we are drawn to people who have the same family values as our own. I would imagine that your cousin and you share many things in common.
However, many people would think badly of you and your cousin if you dated. It is one of those things that goes against cultural values in our country. It's easy to say that it does not matter what other people think, but in our hearts, we all care about what people say and think about us.
You and your cousin are both young. Most likely way too young to be thinking about a long-term relationship. If people find out that you like each other, though, that gossip will follow you around for the rest of your life(if you stay in your community).
Since you are both young, it would probably be best if you just remained friends and cousins. You will both go on to eventually find other relationships.
It's tough making the right decisions when you are young. You two would not have a real future as a family since children between close relatives stand a huge risk of being born with defects. You might argue that you don't want any children, but take it from me, one day your children will be the light of your life and the heart of your home. You will want the best for them and you would not want them to be teased because they are a product of incest.
You can read some of the responses above. People are cruel. That's just the way it is. I would not want you to be teased and made fun of by your friends and family because of a bad decision in your youth. I know that you would not want that for your cousin, either. You have this opportunity to stand up for both you and your cousin and be strong enough to resist this attraction.

Please take the time to think about all the difficulty you will both go through if you begin to date. Your family and friends will almost certainly disapprove. It is difficult to function when your entire support group disagrees with your actions. Certainly, this is a decision that only you, along with your cousin, can make. However, I would be very hesitant before I pursued such a relationship so unlikely to be accepted as moral. If you are very serious about wanting to date one another, please speak to a counselor or pastor about your situation. They can help you work out how to deal with the issue. Also, if you are young, perhaps the thing to do is to decide to date other people, and if by the time you are in your twenties you still want to be with each other, revisit the issue at that time.

Dating your cousin is weird unless hes like 4 or 5 cousins removed from you. Find a new love.

Which is worse... dating ur Cousin ... seems u have a hard time to find men?? UR cousin and Chris BROWN .. oh please!!! GET A life and find something better to have peace of mind and enjoyable .. but i wish u the best in ur desison making ... hope u dont regret your mistakes when u think of Chris Brown or ur cousin .. Find a Decent man whos not in a family member or doenst go for a fast life ... ull be much happier... NO LIE but true

if the two of u make each other happy , then go for it, do not pay any attention to what other people may say , after all they are not the one's who live with or date either of u , ,, the important thing is that u are attracted to each other, and that u are happy with each other,, ,, everything else will fall into to place in its own time, ,, after all u only live once, and life is too short not to endulge urself, with what makes u happy

In most states it is illegal to date your first cousin. Your family probably wouldn't like it no matter what state you live in.
