Is there a way I could transfer Windows XP from my master HD to the slave and switch the jumpers around? Could I do this without having to re-register the OS over the internet?

If your system is from Dell or HP/Compac then Ghost will not work. It does not work with multi partition drives. Dell and HP/Compac have a small diag/service partion on the harddrive that makes Ghost throw up. I use Image Magic 7.0 or newer instead if you want to do the drive image restore method. Personally, I use Partition Magic and clone the drive to the slave then up the partition size to the maximum, then I switch the hard drives or remove the orginal. Patrition Magic handles the Dell and HP multi partition drives without a single problem.

Yes you can make a clone of your hard disk. But you will need enough free space for the clone. I suggest that you get an external hard drive. Then you can use either Norton Ghost 10.0, Norton Save & Restore or HDClone to make the clones. You can get Norton Ghost and HDClone for free from PhazeDDL dot com.
