Need to clean your lint trap and the compartment it goes into. Something new I learned from an e-mail recently... scrub that lint trap with soap and water and a toothbrush. A build-up from dryer sheets actually plugs the screen over time. Try it. If you have removed the lint run it under water. If the water is slow going through, it needs a scrub. Also check your vent hose to make sure it's not plugged.

Clothes Dryer or Hair Dryer?

Hair Dryer - Most likely the heater coil is disconnected from the circuit. Unless you are familiar with electronics, I would suggest shelling out 20 bucks for a new one.

Clothes Dryer - These appliance usually have lengthy warrantees. double check the settings, and if it still dont work, call the maytag man.

If you try to fix either, make sure you unplug it first ;)

Ya check the vent and the lint compartment. Also, you might have to replace piece leading to the vent. Depending if it's gas or electric it might be the system that makes it hot.

Not sure what the proper name for the part is, but it could be that the heating element is dying. It should be a replaceable part.
