Both are same things. Combo Drive and CD-RW/DVD ROM drive are the same. You need a DVD-RW drive to burn DVDs.

ROM stands for read only memory, so this obviously can not burn a DVD. RW stands for read/write, so this is what you want. A CD-RW/DVD ROM drive can read and burn CDs, but only read DVDs.

2 drives, one is a 40X CD-Rom and one is a "mixture" force and may act as a DVD reader and a CD Burner. This changed into very uncomplicated on older platforms (round 2000? 2002?) that you may want to rapidly replica a disc (many times a track CD). you ought to apply one force to study and the different to position in writing. many times you do not favor both drives, notwithstanding that is swifter that way. regrettably this does no longer artwork with a DVD because you could desire a DVD-Rom and a DVD-RW.
