Sounds like it might have been a dirty coil and possible dirty filter in the first place.Air flow restriction will cause the indoor coil temp. to drop and cause excessive sweating. A superheat or sub-cooling measurement should be made before any freon is added. An over-charge is bad for your A/C and wallet,at least that's what my grandma always said.

I HATE A/C techs. A clear sign that they are taking you for a ride is that they say the freon is low. It's a closed system, so if the freon is low there would be a leak somewhere that would need to be fixed.
How old is your unit? They lose efficiency each year, until finally they really don't run very well at all.
There should be a 20 degree (f) difference between where the air goes into the inside unit and where it comes out of the vents in the house. If there isn't, he didn't fix your airconditioner, and shouldn't be charging you money.

how was it working before? did he change the filter? clean the coils? oil the motors? check the fuses? did he give you a itemized receipt? OK then , well if he overcharged it, with freon, the evaporator coils would freeze up and you would not get any air flow.Thur the inside vents. if it is low on freon ,your unit will run all of the time and blow out hot in the inside vents air that's why your bill is high your compressor is running all of the time. and you need water flowing out of the evaporator coil ,it should flow in this heat like a faucet!! the unit is suppose to remove heat from the inside of your house and also dehumidify the air, IE remove the water, when the unit is running go outside and put your hand over the outside condenser the air coming out of the top should be hot!!! that would be the hot air from inside your house being removed by condensing, i will bet the air is not hot. call Jim bob back up, and try to be nice i know it is hard. but your unit is probably out of freon and needs to be fixed! don"t let him stall you. tell him about the situation and if he is worth his salt he should fix it. keep me posted. thank you. and with a residential system you should see a 25 -35 degree differential from outside to inside.

Hello I'm the pro. I own a a/c company. I have to answer if someone goes out an screws it up like this guy did you.
If you get your "freon" topped off , be sure to have the tech show you where your leak is and how he is going to stop the leak.
The number one job of your a/c unit is dehumidification. It is much easier to cool you off with dry air rather than wet air.
Be sure you have a HVAC contractor come and look over your system and document everything. They will be able to get it back to where it was before and give you a good idea of what the other guy did to screw things up.
DO NO, DO NOT, DO NOT, Call someone with a name like "Uncle Billie Bob's heating and lawn care.

I'd say you have a leak that he didn't fix before putting more freon in which legally he has a certain amount of time by the EPA law to fix the leak. I'd call them back and check on this. Your compressor could be froze up to. Turn it off and call them and tell them and be there and watch them work on it.That's the best I can tell you. With this heat you should have a lot of water in your drip pan.

Could be overfilled, which surprised me when I was told this was a problem. Or someone could have punctured something and all the freon leaked out (roofers?). If it isn't cooling off, then there's something wrong with it and you need to call right away.

sounds like they guy forgot to recap the freon, your airconditioner will run forever until the temp gets reached and if it doesnt get reached then there wont be any condensation because it never sucked the moisture out of the air when the cold temps kick in.

I would ask for a different service person .. and if this one all of a sudden says ,,,,well you need a lot of work done???? I would get a 2nd opinion before I did that...

I'd call their little happy behinds back out there, tell them you want it fixed correctly. I went through this last year, basically, since I'm in Florida,we decided it was just too flipping hot,and we had to deal with it. We did, however change the thermostat,if they didn't check it,you might want to do that, too.good luck, sucks being hot inside, too
