I am currently a philosophy major, who is bored with prelaw studies, so I have decided to not go to law school and just pair my current major with an English Major. Will this take longer than 5 years taking 18 hours a semester and going in the summer? Also, can I teach philosophy and/or english on the high school level with these majors?

You'll have to check with your university to find out how many hours are required for the English major, but taking that many hours a semester...and going in the summers too...I can't imagine it taking longer than that. You'll have to check about how to get teacher's certification...it might mean taking a few extra courses or passing a test...but you should be able to teach with those degrees with little difficulty.

in case you have an activity in resourceful writing, philosophy could be an suggestions-blowing paring. And a history in/ understand-how of philosophy will in straightforward terms furnish help to examine literature. yet i does not tackle an entire English degree just to help with writing.... there is probable basically as plenty examining and writing in a philosophy substantial as in an English substantial.

I suppose you could but you would need an education degree as well.
