(not minitower vs desktop. I mean mini-tower VS tower.)

Tower's usually have 8-10 expansion slots(5x5.5 inch and 5x3.5 inch slots) while while min-towers usually have about half or less than that.

As far as I can understand, you've been already working in a PC environment. So, why changing to an expensive machine from a brand that focus his work on huge marketing campaigns that does not reflect such a great quality products. Take the iPhone, for instance: several other brands do it better (Nokia, Samsung, whatever) at lower prices. Same thing with Macs. In the early days of MS Windows, there might be a better performance and reliability with Macs (and I do say there might be); but that is past for sure. Since the XP Windows version and with the new intel processor generation, there is no objectiv reason to choose other than a regular white brand PC with enough ram and disk memory, processor speed and a good video card, depending on what do you want to do with your computer.

Size, and layout.

The number or available slots in the back, and bays in the front.
How cramped it will all be when put together...
