It depends on the job. I'm an EMT and I lift patients of all weights all the time. As long as you use proper lifting techniques you should be able to lift as much as your arms and legs will allow. As a general rule of thumb try to lift no more than 1/2 your own body weight unless your job requires you to lift more.

It has no longer some thing to do with gender. It relies upon on how a lot the man can raise that being suggested some jobs require someone (male or lady) to boost a particular form of pounds to also be considered for the pastime.

I'm guessing you are in the UK, try the HSE website. I'm not really sure if there is an upper limit but all employers are obliged to provide safe workplaces and systems of work etc, so they have to be careful not to make you regularly lift something that you are not capable of handling safely.

employers must give adequete training on oving of objects in the workplace. it is recommended that we do not lift any weight that we are not comftable with as we all have different builds, strengths and weakness' your employer should provide you with equiptment such as trolleys, hoists etc for transporting objects around in your workplace. IF in dought, REFUSE ( they cant sack you for not putting yourself in danger!)
