If you can't afford to take a group dance lesson at a community center, then get an instructional dance video off Ebay. Most likely though, if you are talking about going to a school dance, they don't really do anything very structured anyway, so if you can just move each foot to the beat and move your upper body a little bit (keep your knees flexed) you shouldn't look any goofier than your friends.

aaaw, don't be afraid. Have you tried taking some lessons? If you stick to only one style of dancing then you are limiting yourself. Everyone expresses body language in a unique way. Try going to some community classes or a dance academy. Try some dvd's that may help and feel secure about your style.

just try to stay with the beat of the music... im on a high school drill team and couldnt dance very well when i first started but i learned that if u listen to the beat then you get better...but you might want to try to dance in private before dancing in public

If you can talk...You can sing...If you can walk...You can dance...Always hold your head high...Find the beat and choose a different body part to move/wiggle/sway to the individual beats...slowly combine the movements and your well on your way to dancing...No one way or style of dance is wrong it's whatever works for the person

my advice wud be to get private dance lessons with either a dance teacher or sum one u no who will help u without laughing at u. that's all i can say but one other thing is be confident with urself wot u act like wot u look like & if u enjoy dancing then do it & stuff the people that laugh at u & try ur hardest to egnore them. gud luk & i hope u enjoy urself.

Practice at home, learn to like the way you dance anyway, and just go out and have fun. Don't worry about what anyone thinks.

okay... i advise you to learn how to bounce and step to the correct beats of the music... dont' show that you look like a fool or you will.. you must be confident in your moves..
listen to up beat music.. and continue to move...
if you want apply for a non performing dance class...!!!

p.s
in my opinion.. everyone can dance.. stepping side to side or even doing something original made by you... JUST BE CONFIDENT!
