When I like what you've got, I'll tell you what I can give you. If you agree, we'll make the deal, okay?

2006-07-21 07:02:15 · update #1

Ok. So, here's the deal. I like feeling alive. I'm interested in making and being made to think. I'm little prejudiced, but that might be my greatest prejudice. I'm quick-tempered, but my rages fade quickly, too. I'm insecure and selfconscious about what I don't know, and a bit too judgmental about what I do know. I love my girl and my friends more than anything else. I promise to take care of your personality for the time I own it, and to give it back in good shape after the deal if over.

And the winners are... not:

Hichefheidi, you seem like an interesting challenge.

lucykennedy2000, I'm afraid we wouldn't have much of a change if we traded personalities.

sclady62001p, not yet, but some day, perhaps...

Tahini, "lazy", ha? Let me think about it...

Yasmin, I could use your capacity to make friends so easily.

JaysWife, only your partner? Too bad!

Lila, you would have been my second choice.

souljagirpart2, it could be good to know what it is like to be black. Many a racist could use that experience.

mini, "culinary experimentation", ha? Well, the best I can do in the kitchen is... a mess!

Cynthia, "neurotic, people-reader, socially aware, quick at reacting, knowing what you want, but not always how to get it, obsessed with Spain, interested in languages..." But I want a CHANGE of personality! Not the same one in a different person, lol.

Why would I trade my marvelous self?

2006-07-21 07:01:40 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 4 0

Ok, here's what I got: I'm a little neurotic, but that makes me endearing, or so some say. If you're not neurotic, then you'll enjoy experiencing my neuroses for a week; it will make you appreciate your normal self when you're done. But that's not all, there's a lot more, keep reading.

All of these neuroses make me a very sensitive person, in good ways and bad (but even the bad ways are kind of good, too). I'm very perceptive; that is, I'm very good at reading people (even though sometimes my neuroses get in the way). Because of that, I find it easy to empathize with others, and so I usually give people really good advice--wouldn't you want that skill for a week? I also like to be very aware of what's going on around me: politically, socially, personally, etc. That awareness can be a little draining, so I'm also very logical, yet intuitive, about how to deal with those things. That dichotomy creates some problems for me when I react instantly to these things that go on. First, I react from my gut, but I have nothing to back it up; then, when pressed, I logically work through why it is exactly that I feel that way. So, you've got to watch out for that first reaction, but the process helps make me a very self-aware person. Awareness is really important/fun, so I'm sure you'd enjoy trying it out for a week and seeing what new things you become aware of.

Now, I'm somewhat ambitious, but not overly so. I know what I want and I know how to get it. The problem is that I don't always know how to make myself do what it is that I need to do to get it. That's probably the least fun part of my personality, but we never agreed that this deal would be a bed of roses, right? However, I'm sure that you can put up with that for a week, it might be a change of scenery, at least.

As for the more superficial things about my personality, I'm kind of obsessed with Spain, so pretty much anything that involves Spain, I like (except bullfighting). So, I spend a lot of time trying to make my personality more "Spanish." By that, I definitely mean the post-Franco, non-religious, politically progressive, still relaxed and groovy kind of "Spanish". I don't need to work too hard at it, because my personality is already pretty Spanish, or so I like to think. So, you've got that to look forward to.

Ok, I'm making this personality-switching offer with the stipulation that the switch of personalities comes with a switch of knowledge (knowledge is a part of personality really, anyway, right?). So, I get to be fluent in Spanish for a week (Argentinian Spanish, to boot!), and maybe I can write some of that knowledge down to take it with me after the week's over. What do you get, you'll ask... well, you're already fluent in English, so that's not going to sweeten the deal much. Though, I do think a lot about my use of English, so you might be able to get a greater insight into the language. Also, I am a political science grad student, so you'll get a good knowledge of international relations and comparative politics. During this week, if you want to test out your newfound native-speaker English abilities, you can always write this paper about terrorism and the political process that I need to write for an upcoming conference... I'm sure it will be loads of fun for you.

I'm shy, sensual but only my partner knows. I am over nurturing and pick up slack because I don't like anyone to get into trouble. I don't talk much but I have friends that confide in me. I like to listen, be loved and secretly wish to be a mother but I am fearful in reality. I am 28 but try to look 18. I greatly appreciate fine art and literature, but rock out to tool, sepultura, pantera etc...but you'd never guess. when i do talk...I'm so insecure that I make jokes all the time and no one takes me seriously...but secretly, I want a real friend and want to be taken seriously.
what about you?

I'm game. Offering lazy, renaissance-type guy behaviour with strong inclination toward fine wines and expensive foods, defensive driving attitude, kind of permanently tense and anxious despite all the mellow trappings though. Easily bullied, and hopelessly naive when it comes to showing vacuum cleaner salesmen the door (own three now). Any takers?

Fasten your seat belt, you in for a bumpy ride!

Pragmatism, confidence, insight-fullness, impatience, wittiness, retirement planning, political analysis, culinary experimentation, fear of poverty, social isolation, contentment, predictability, caring, meditativeness, health consciousness, memories of your deceased mother and lots more. I cannot stay that long on any one question!

Other askers are in need of immediate answers and I obliged to respond!
