I assume it's scientific notation for keyboards or something, but raelly haven't a clue.

To me the first would mean 2 million and some odd amount. I would take the * to be wildcards, so it could be any number in their place.

The 23* couple of billions is not clear. Take out the couple and I might think it coube be 230 to 239 billion.

Where have you seen this listed?

2.*** million... Uhh, maybe your keyboard is erroné (screwed up)? Usually, on version support labels, they say something like (1.x) or (2.6.x), to show that all versions with the given numbers in those positions support that specific software. Sorry, but that's the only clue I can give you.

the context is used is probably saying approximatly 2 milion people, the writed does not know if it is 2.123 milion or 2.212 etc.
