Call your local Department of Job and Family services and they will get you in contact with a lawyer that deals with this kind of thing free of charge. What your landlord is doing is illegal and against your rights as a renter. Both in that he is evicting you because of your husband's job and the fact that your roof leaks. Both highly illegal!!

Sounds like a family feud. Something should be able to be worked out with the real cousins. If you signed a lease with them then you need to look at what it says about eviction. Hopefully You have your receipts for the months you paid. You can always contact a lawyer but that will be expensive. It is always better not to get involved with families on business matters..you were involved with two...both your husbands work and leasing the home. If it were me I would move out. As for the roof, they should fix it as the landlord, they should carry homeowners insurance that cover it. They will have to pay the deductible. I would move out to avoid later trouble. Good Luck

You should definitely start looking for a new place no matter how unfair it is because why would you like to keep living on the property of someone who doesn't like you? He could make living there very difficult. I would suggest trying to postpone the move for a while...at least until you've found a new place you're happy with. If your house is in need of repair anyway, maybe it is time to find a new place. I would suggest trying to speak with your landlord about this. Find out why he wants this, and try to solve it. Even if he still evicts you, try not to leave on a bad note with your relatives.

Yea..call your husband....however, if you haven't violated anything in the lease then i dont see how you can get evicted unless the lease expires. He can't just kick you out if you payed for your rent and haven't caused any trouble. Talk to your husband first and try to get him to talk to his cousin....if that doesn't work and you think you haven't done anything wrong then demand the money for what the rest of your lease is...or get a lawyer

Do you have a lease? Are you on a month to month contract? Is his "employment tied into the lease?" If no to all of these answers, then you really have not got very many rights. Sign a lease on your next place you rent. Good luck.

Don't be too worried while you're husband is away. That's terrible they told you while he was gone. They have to legally evict you in court! You ride it out or start looking for a new place.
