What is the differnce between democrat republican, being liberal?

Okay i'm not the smartest cookie in the box ... maybe i was left out of the box all together! or i slept in school and didn't care! Well now i do care and i need your help... I really don't understand the differnce between democrat and repbulbican and what does being liberal mean? just want some clairification... remember i'm not the smartest cookie in the box keep it simple please!

Being a democrat is cool, being a repuglican sucks and being liberal is ok.

Democrats are the devil. Liberals are the ones with the SEPTIC TANK on their shoulders.
