My gas has been shut off for an over due bill. I just payed the over $500 last week but they said it was not enough. I have 3 kids and really need the gas on. Is there anything i can do to get the gas turned back on.

not sure what part of PA you live in, but there are several ways to get help with utility bills in all states, i did a quick check and Pennsylvania has a public utilities commission and they have a program called CARES.
The CARES program helps customers with special needs. CARES may help you find ways to pay your utility bill. For example, special needs are customers who are experiencing family emergencies, divorce, unemployment, or medical emergencies. The goal is to provide support and direction to help customers pay their utility bills.

They also have something called the hardship fund. The Utility company hardship funds provide cash assistance to utility customers to help them pay their utility bills. Hardship funds provide assistance grants to customers who "fall through the cracks" of other financial assistance programs, or to those who still have a critical need for assistance after the other resources have been exhausted. The funds make payments directly to companies on behalf of eligible customers

or contact your local church group...or childrens services. There are people out there who care. Good luck!

I'm in PA too....I heard of something for electric companies, but I'm not sure if they have it with the gas companies. It's called CAP. I forget what it stands for, but it basically lowers your payments somehow. Call the gas company or look at your bills. A lot of times they list 800 numbers for assistance. I know my Duquesne Light bill has info on the back of one of their pages of my bill that list if I'm having trouble paying or need assistance.
I'm sorry I can't give you a specific name, but I can encourage you that there are places out there that offer assistance.
First step I'd suggest is call and talk to your gas company. Try and speak to a supervisor if you can; they have more power to pull strings than clerks do.
I hope everything works out for you!

Go to Walmart and buy a cheap Camp site type range top that is electrical for now, to cook with and heat water for baths. Then call that company back and tell them that you just paid them $500.00 and they are makeing a hardship for a mother with 3 children, and you are going to report them to the press and cause all kinds of bad publicity for them if they don't cut you some slack until you can send more money. But, yes also apply for assistance from the Government or Salvation Army if you can.
