Realistically at first glance i would have said that it is "Life in a circle". From a hindu perspective it would seem this way because of the theoretical belief in reincarnation.
However from a personal philosophical view, i would say that in time you will come to realise that there is no circle or straight line.
Life is created to be infinite, and thus when we die, we start a new life. It is pretty much circular, but if you understand the theory of parallel universes, then you would understand that life lost in this moment is created in another.
Hope this helps.

For you it's a straight line... For the universe it's a circle... It's like Earth: it's really round, but from where you're standing it seems perfectly flat... So we see our lives as a straight line, but in fact we all are a part of a perfect circle...

It's more like the game Chutes and Ladders. You know....things go good for a while and then down you go!! Up and down. I don't think it could be a circle because it would never end. So, I guess if I'm picking a game rather than circle or line, I must get close so how's "squiggly" for an answer?

What about squares or triangles? They are made of straight lines and they form a kind of circle. If I had to give existence a geometric figure, I would choose a piece of lettuce with nails through it, and possibly a plastic bag a few miles away from it.

Life is a circle when talking about life in general. We are doomed to repeat the mistakes we don't learn from. Life begins from a seed (both literally and figuratively), grows through different stages, dies and is replaced by another seed (usually). What comes around, goes around.
Life in particular (yours and mine) is a straight line. We are born to die, life is just what happens in between.

Life is a circle, definitely. Think we eat, we defecate, it fertalized the soil, we grow our food, we eat, etc. Or the seasons. Or orbits of planets, moons, galaxies.
Now, if were talking the soul/spirit, that's still open for debate. My opinion is a straight line but some can argue very well for the contrary. No matter what though, that one comes down to a matter of unproveable (or at least unproven) belief.

its definetely not a straight line
all the major thinkers and philosophers and theories removed the straight line from their vision of things. Time is a curve, light curves (Einstein),intelligence is a curve, history is a circle, compassion is a circle (dalai Lama),human nations are a circle (Lakotas)... and poets names the circle of life.
but all the above is unimportant.
to me, it is a curved line, the day you die, you re back to the starting point.
If you dont agree, then..see you there, who arrives first, waits.
hehe

The process in general seems to move in cycles, even though it may seem like straight lines due to how big the circle is and it's difficult to see the horizon.
