well that happens. keep your cat out of your room or the room you kept you hampster in. then lay out food like, a piece at the door and lead a trail all the way back to the cage. After a week or so if you can't find your hampster or it hasn't found you then your cat probably got it. Sorry and hope that isn't the case! Good Luck

my hampster use to get out all the time... auuughhh that use to get on my nerves... i didn't have a cat.. so I wouldn't even go looking for her. Miss Prince Lillie Gray... oh yes that was her name. Anyway.. hampsters run the walls and don't like contact forreal... if they are in the open they will hide until the house is quite and then at night while you are sitting there.. you will see it run cross the room, then you have to chase it down.

Cats don't ususally eat stuff they catch... see for a cat it thinks it is playing... when chasing something... then when it dies it has nothign to play wiht so it just leaves it there.... usually.. USUALLY only hungry alley cats actually eat the animal...

Keep an eye on your cat -if it seems unusually interested in a certain spot in the house, the hamster may be there.

Put little boxes/containers around on their sides with some food in them. Hamsters will crawl into a dark place with food in it. You can tip the box up if hamster crawls in.

Good luck

my hamsters always got out of their cages and we eventually ended up finding them somewhere weird. what you need to do is keep all doors to all rooms shut at ALL times, and then see which room starts getting poop on the floor. sounds gross, but then you'll at least narrow it down. or, you could leave food in a prominent place in all the rooms and see which pile gets eaten. and if you can't find it after that, sorry about the loss. but at least the cat was happy.

we used to have a hamster that was a regular houdini and always escaped! look behind furniture and anything on the floor it could crawl behind and hide. we found him many time hiding behind things. we would also put food in an open area and a couple of times we caught him and the food dish. i had a cat at the time too, but oddly enough she loved the hamster and would clean it and actually carried it around w/ her. it was so strange, she acted like it was her kitten! hope you find your pet :)

After you put the cat out....look under all of the furniture and behind. A hamster can flatten itself to fit practically anywhere.

Lock up your cat-or put it outside for now. Search the floor of every room and places that they can crawl into, after leaving each room, shut it up, and shove a towel under the door. Put some food out & maybe one of those spinning wheels. Good Luck!
