For the NL, I'm leaning towards the Dodgers LF Andre Ethier, even though he has only played in 67 games he's hitting BA-347 OB%-395 SLG-520....Dan Uggla has been a regular all year and he's still hitting BA-295 OB%-353 SLG-491, but his offense has fallen off lately, he is still playing great defense RF-5.28 FLD% 979..
In the AL the race is going to be a good one, right now I would go in this order
#1 - Francisco Liriano 11-2 1.94
#2 - Justin Verlander 11-4 2.83
#3 - Jonathan Papelbon 2-1 0.54 - 29 saves
#4 - Kenji Johjima BA-287 OB%-334 SLG-451
It's so close between the three pitchers that one or two bad outings and they could be out of the running...
Someone said Papelbon was "well on his way to breaking the ERA record" I don't know if 0.54 is "well on his way" when Eckersley had a 0.61...Papelbon has been pretty lucky that the 2 HR's he has given up haven't cost him more than the three runs he has given up, and he's on pace for 48-49 saves not 58...Don't get me wrong what he has done is incredible especially when you consider he pitches half the time in Fenway...
Eckersley pitched 73.1 innings and allowed 45 batters to reach, 41 hits + 4 walks + 0 HBP - 2 HR allowed
Papelbon 50.0 innings and allowed 37 batters to reach
27 hits + 9 walks + 1 HBP - 2 HR allowed
both very impressive, but one bad pitch and, well, an ERA of 0.61 is going to be tough to beat...It would be great if he pulls it off!

MVP >Chad Pennington who took a a million-15 group went11-5 and won the dep. ROTY >Matt Ryan who did some ingredient comparable with an Atlanta group that have been thrown to the canine the previous season. Btw how are you waiting to assert AP whose mishandling of the rock very final week value his group the pastime ? the only reason that the Vikes won the day rather earlier this replaced into because of the reality they have been taking section in a collection that did now not want the victory.

Pappelbon easily. Well on his way to having the lowest ERA ever, and also has a shot at the single season save record (57)
