last year we moved to a neighborhood on a dead end street thinking it would be safer because mostly ppl who belong here will be up and down the street.. we immediately realized that wasn't the case. the first thing that happened was we heard gunshots and found out someone was jacked at a stoplight almost a block away from our house... then there was a car chase that appearently ended on the highway about 2.5 miles away and the cops were all down our street and others... one of the guys was hiding in a shed two houses down on the other side of the street.

well we just moved here like a month ago & it seemed really nice and quite, but that was before we woke up a couple of weeks ago and our vehicle was stolen, then my mom calls her friend that lives 4 houses down to tell her and she realizes that hers is gone too! kind of freaky, i guess i have mixed emotions now about where we live, but i don't like to be home alone.

I live in a great neighborhood. We help each other, take care of each other's kids, cook meals for each other when someone is sick or has a baby....and work towards the common goal of a safe, peaceful place to live.
During a recent hurricane we were out of town. A huge 50 ft tree fell across our driveway. When we got home we saw that our tree was gone. We asked the neighbors if the knew what happened to our tree. We were told that it had fell across the driveway and "so that we could pull in, several of the guys in the neighborhood chopped it up and hauled it away."
Need I say anything more?

Good neighborhoods have residents who take pride in their property (whether it is rich or not. it CAN be clean) and they take an interest in keeping crime from coming in. They don't let their kids stand on the street corners and deal crack and then claim racism when they are killed by other crack dealers. A good neighborhood has nothing to do with race of the residents it has to do with taking pride and wanting to have a safe place for kids to grow up.

Good. People here are mostly older. People take pride in their property. They watch out for each other. If one of our neighbors notices we have been busy and away from home a lot, someone will come mow the lawn. If I am out working in the yard and get a load of yard waste, one of my neighbors will come over with a trashcan and take it to the dump. (We aren't allowed to put it out for the trash.) If the lady across the street hears someone has been sick or in the hospital, she goes right to work making chocolate chip cookies or banana bread for that person. We do things for the neighbors too, it isn't one sided. We aren't close friends, just good neighbors!

I live in a good neighborhood. It's a mix of single, two & three family homes and people all know each other and look out for each other, which can be a pain because most of the neighborhood knows your business but on the other hand it's nice because everyone looks out for each other and knows everyone else's name.

BAD. i moved here july 2nd, and by july 5th- my sons bike and scooter were stolen. What makes it bad is all the drug dealer hoodlems, and the parents who let their kids run all over the neighborhood and not watching them. THATS a bad neighborhood.
Im walking my son to school because apparently the white kids get jumped on the bus. I want out of here, let the regulars kill each other and get on each others nerves without involving me or my family.
