They pleaded with me not to tell their mother. I sent them to their rooms and advised that I would let them know my decision today.

This is a sex crime and must be reported immediately. Parents who keep this a secret are always arrested and sentenced to jail as an accessory.

Your stepdaughter needs extensive counseling asap. This is not the first time this boy has done this you can bet on it.

Do not let the boy back in the house again.

I think the 16 year old convenienced the 10 year old. So the problem is that the 16 misued his power to get the younger one to do something he wanted. The 10 year old didn't know how to set safe boundaries with her body. Why? She really cannot be punished because she was pretty powerless, and didn't know what she was talked into doing. Instead she needs to be re-introduced about the best and safest way to protect her esteem and life. Counseling and spiritual intervention will help her.

The boy has a scary perspective regarding his influence and manipulation of girls to get what he wants. This is extremely selfish, and he needs a better pattern to follow. I recommend the Fatherhood initiative or Promise Keepers as a good start for him.

DO NOT KEEP IT FROM THEIR MOTHER!!! There could be some serious problems here. First he should know better and that is illegal and he should be advised of that. Her on the other hand is not old enough maybe they have both been molested when they were younger keeping it from her would not only be wrong but it would maybe be keeping then from some help that they are in need of and if you didn't they wont stop doing it

That is a stickys situation, if you tell they will hate you and who know what the father will say or how he will look at them but if you don't will it continue, if it come out and he find out you did'nt tell he will be upset with you. who is the aggressor the girl or the boy? most likely it was the brother for petes sake it his sister is only 10 years old so he had to be the aggressore and the little girl think it is ok!!! I am sorry they both got issues, to do that. I think they need therpy. I WOULD BE SICK TO MY STOMACH IF I have walk in on that with my kids. I think it will be responsible to tell but I would also worry if your other half will handle it properly and not send one of then away or mistreat treat them.
Good Luck.

OMG.. if my 10yr older daughter was having sex..I think I would probably go CRAZY and CLOCK out on someone. however, this is a problem that her mother needs to know about.

ALSO, I cannot help but wonder... what type of household is this??? Considering she is 10 obviously she has been misguided and has been shown unpositive things about sex. Sex is the farthest thing that should be from her mind....

The 16 year old should be punished, he knows better.. I mean punished... I dont believe in whippings and such, but his azz needs to be stripped and whipped.. and BOTH of them need immediate ....... IMMEDIATE counseling!

OK MOM.. Time to be the mother.. If it went on once it will happen again.. Tell there farther, see about sending one of them to live with there mother or get them help.. Dont have them in the same house..The 16 year old SHOULD see a doctor, sex with a 10 year old, the boy needs help...SORRY if what I said was rude or sounded that way. Thought about it and thats what I would do.. You do have quite a problem, better nip it in the butt and fast... Hope all works out.. your friend in tennessee...ROB

Are you going to listen to some kids who plead with you not to tell their secret? YOU are the adult. YOU are responsible to tell. YOU need to tell their parents BEFORE you tell anyone else, like the police or a counselor. Their mother has a right to know. How do you think she would feel if her 10 year old got some kind of illness that could be traced back to her sexual activities that she didn't know about only to find out that you did? You know what you should do. You just need to find the courage to do it. Be the adult. Save their lives while you still can. If you don't, whatever happens to them will be on your hands.

OMG. Their mother would only be the beginning!! I'd have both their a$$es at a mental health facility, at the Dr.'s checking for disease, I'd even call the cops on the 16yr. old--he should know better!!! You are responsible as an adult. If you don't do something, then you are guilty of child abuse. That is grounds for human services to remove that 10yr. old from the home, and if you don't get some serious therapy for them both, then that's what needs to happen!!! PLEASE don't let this slide. That is against the law to let that happen. You have a responsibility to take immediate action!!!!!!!!!

You got to tell the mom and the police. If you do not you can be jailed. I am serious. Do not keep this secret. It is the law. The boy committed a crime and as a mother you should have called the police right then and there. Shame on you!

Sorry!
