Nothing causes aids in gay sex. AIDS/HIV infection is caused by exposure to the HIV virus either by blood contamination, or by other bodily fluid contamination. Sometimes this happens during sex.

Gay sex doesn't cause AIDS. A virus that can't tell the difference between any sexual orientation causes AIDS.

Several decades before gay people in America began spreading the HIV virus amongst themselves in the early 80's, it was spreading through mostly heterosexual contact in Africa.

The truth is there is probably an enormous number of straight people who are infected, but don't know because they don't think they are at risk and don't get tested.

Gay sex doesn't cause AIDS. Unprotected sexual contact with somebody who is infected causes AIDS. No matter what sexual orientation people are.

HIV is a virus which can be transmitted from person to person via an exchange of bodily fluids. It is the HIV virus which may cause AIDS, not the sex act itself. AIDS my be transmitted between any two persons, it is not limited to gay sex, but you asked about gay sex. Probably the most common transmission from male to male is when an infected man performs anal sex on another man. His semen will contain the virus and if there are any tiny rips or tears in the anal wall, or if the receiver has hemorrhoids or other openings to the blood stream, the virus may be transmitted.
Less likely is through oral sex, where the infected man's semen enters the blood stream through some soft of opening in the mouth, like bleeding gums, or a bitten cheek. While it is also possible for a transmission of fluid containing the virus to pass from the passive partner (the one receiving the anal sex, or performing the oral) it is somewhat less likely.
Does this help?
The use of condoms helps to prevent this transmission by preventing the semen of the infected partner from reaching the uninfected partner.

You can get the HIV aids virus from the exchange of bodily fluids obtained through sex with an infected person. You must always use a condom with oral, vaginal and/or anal sex. For detailed information you should look for answers on the internet, and from your family physician. If you are too embarrassed to ask your doctor, then go to the nearest Free Clinic and/or Gay Hotline and get the detailed information. Never go around just asking people on the internet and/or on the streets. Get your information from trusted individuals and qualified people in the health industry. Take care and good-luck. Don't be afraid to get the information you need. Knowledge is Power!

It's not gay sex that causes AIDS. It's the HIV virus that causes AIDS. It can be passed by any exchange of bodily fluid - blood, saliva, semen, etc. You can get it during hetero sex, too. Even virgins can get AIDS if they get a blood transplant from an infected donor.

Do some searching on reputable websites about the topic, and get educated. These should be a good start.

Gay sex doesn't cause aids.

But if you want to know why aids started out with gay men...

Here is how my anthropology teacher explained it:

The way aids are transferred is blood or sex...
Short story:
scientists study monkeys, monkeys have aids, one got cut...(lets hope) ,and aids got into the blood stream of a male who happened to be gay or at lest bi... so on and so forth.

Hence the reason gay people had it first.

Having AIDs is a sickness that does not have a cure yet but does have treatments. The sickness is carried in the blood and body of a person. One way to get the sickness is through having unprotected sex with someone who has it. This sickness has nothing to do with being gay or straight, old or young, black or white.

The short answer is: HIV. Same thing that causes AIDS anywhere.

The reason it was, and sometimes fallaciously still is associated with the gay community is just that that is the community it entered THIS country in. Other countries don't see any correlation in numbers of gay folks with it.

Like all the answers before me, it's the same with heterosexuals. It's cause by someone who has the virus, then not telling his/ her partners. AIDS doesn't discriminate
