Were you married in the 1800s? OBEY was taken out of the marriage oath YEARS ago and there's a reason. YOU DO NOT TELL US WHAT TO DO!!! I have an ex that tried that crap. Did you pick up on the word "ex"?????

Do you obey God? Women are told to obey their husbands as long as the directive falls within God's plan for marriage. If a man demands that his wife sleep with another man....she can dis-obey because God is more powerful. I know that is extreme...but...*Shrug*. I hope my husband believes that I obey him, but he has rarely demanded, he always involves me in what is going on, and if he does put his foot down, I listen because it must be important. If he tried to pull rank on everything down to what kind of potatoes I make for dinner I would naturally resist, and try to gain power over him. When two people in a marriage work together like they should, each will feel that they are important to the partnership, and the other person.

OBEY YOU? I thought you get into a marriage to love Honor and cherish. Where does obey come in. Is she your dog? I dont think so. Some men can be such jerks. I'm glad I have the loving husband that I do and not some rude jerk. And maybe she may listen to you if you such a Brut.

Obey should only come in EXTREME circumstances. ie, she is working herself to death and is in real danger of doing serious harm to her body, and you ask her to take a break. ie she just had a baby and is trying to do 100 squats in an afternoon. She's your wife, not your child. She is an equal partner in your marriage. I assume you fell in love with her because of her mind? Her personality? Who she really is inside. If there is something you really want her to do that she isn't doing, sit down and ask her why. LISTEN to what she says and really think about it. Then list your reasons for wishing she would do so. After you both have said calmly what is on your mind, see if this is something you can agree to work on. If not, is it something you really need? In marriage, and every other relationship in life, you have to pick your battles. It this something that you really can't live without? If it is, then sit down and talk to her seriously, and calmly about what it means to you. If it isn't something you need, maybe you should pray about letting it go.

Boy, you're gonna get lambasted for asking that Mr. Dark-Ages. I'll be looking forward to seeing how many people realize how incredibly stupid you are. Divorce her. She'll proabably be happy. Then, go buy a pet. You might get a pet to obey you. Maybe not.

Ok I have to put in my 2 cents worth on this one. I have been married for 38 years and I obey GOD and myself. That is it.

a wife isn't for obeying. if you want to be someones daddy then have some kids. if you were my husband i wouldn't obey you either. women, men and children always rebel against authority. try being her husband and loving her, maybe she will grow to want to be submissive.

You probably don't know how to 'handle' her. Get to know her or live with it. You sure come across as a wuzz.
And you 'feel' she doesn't obey you? So you aren't even sure of that. Maybe that's why she doesn't, she can tell you are indecisive
