Either it's stressed or it's eating. If you just put a food item in the tank, that is probably it. Test the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, salinity, and temperature to make sure everything is in line, and that nothing has changed dramatically. Make sure nothing in the tank is picking on it, a fish, other anemone, or coral. Make sure your lighting is up to par. Many anemones have symbiotic algae living inside of them that feeds the anemone. The algae needs certain lighting to live, so check the lighting requirments for your type of anemone. Make sure you never use chemicals or medications in your tank. Copper is extremely toxic to invertebrates. Get a quarentine/hospital tank to medicate sick fish. I hope some of this helps!

it could be a number of things, it could just be deflated as a natural defense (they inflate themselves full of water when they are all pretty looking), it could not be taking the food you are feeding it, silversides, zooplankton and chopped squid are a few that are pretty well taken to, or worse case, it could be dying. check the foot for any cuts or scrapes ( if there are any, its not going to make it) also check the whole anemone for color, is it still retaining its color? if its turning white and its not a natrually white anemone such as a sebae or carpetthen that means it is becoming sickly, but it could recover. one more thing, you may not have enough light (typical rule of thumb...5 watts/gallon and 50% 10,000k light and 50% 03 actinic) hope this helped alittle, and good luck with it, theres nothing more beautiful than a healthy anemone

there is a few things you can do . make sure your salinity is correct. make sure your ph is correct. whatever you do do not use anything for iche in a salt water tank because it will killl your anemone. there are fish that eat them so be careful what you put in your tank. no chemicals!! period!!

If it is still a nice color and then expands back out it is either eating or pooping.
If it is losing color and not coming back out then it might be stressed - time to check water parameters and see if you can find if something is going on.
